Tsinghua University’s Caravan Class gives new meaning to the traditional Confucian idea that "knowledge comes from books and the accumulation of experience." Students leave the classroom to explore historical and cultural landmarks, engage with local communities, and learn through firsthand experience. This immersive approach allows students to develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of cultural diversity. Much like Confucius’s journey with his disciples, the Caravan Class takes "self-cultivation" from theory into practice, helping students grasp the depth and breadth of cultural learning.
