US President Donald Trump says the European Union takes “advantage” of the United States tremendously on trade.

Mr Trump is holding a press conference on his first full day in office after being inaugurated for his second term in the White House.

He believes the European Union should be “paying a lot more” for the Ukraine-Russia war when compared to the US government.

“The European Union should equalise; we are in there for $200 billion more than the European Union, what are we, stupid? I guess the answer is yes,” Mr Trump said.
