A federal judge in the United States has become the first to block President Donald Trump’s executive order which seeks to end birthright citizenship.

The judge claimed the order is "blatantly unconstitutional".

Donald Trump signed the executive order shortly after being sworn in on Tuesday, which would end birthright citizenship for babies born to a mother and father who are not US citizens.

The US President said his administration would be appealing the decision.
