Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic says Australia “needs to invest” in AI amid US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a $500 billion artificial intelligence project.

The investment will create a new company called ‘Stargate’ in a bid to grow AI infrastructure in the US.

Mr Husic told Sky News Australia investing in AI development “promises a huge boost to economies” with estimates of providing the Australian economy “up to a $600 billion benefit by 2030.”
