Indigenous academic Anthony Dillon claims changing the date of Australia Day will do “nothing” to help Indigenous Australians.

“Changing the date will do nothing to help Aboriginal people,” Mr Dillon said.

“It’ll bring about some warm fuzzy feelings for a few moments like the apology did, but it’ll produce no lasting long benefit to those people who need positive change in their lives.

‘It’ll just help those who are leading a good life already feel better for their virtue signalling.”
