Nationals Senator Matt Canavan has criticised Labor’s involvement in the Paris Agreement following US President Donald Trump’s move to pull the United States out of the treaty.

“This is not about the environment, this is now a virtue signalling exercise,” Mr Canavan said.

“What Donald Trump has done today is a great challenge to Australia’s economic prosperity.

“Under this Labor government, our productivity is in freefall. We have never seen a reduction in economic productivity like we have had in these past two years.”
