Shadow Attorney-General Michaelia Cash is calling for a “mandatory minimum penalty” for those who commit terror acts.

“What we are saying is, if you commit an act of terrorism in Australia, if you are found to be preparing to commit an act of terrorism in Australia, you should at the very least face a mandatory minimum penalty,” Ms Cash told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“I think many would be surprised to know that there is no mandatory minimum penalty.”
